Facilitated Stretching:Stretching is one of the most important parts of exercise and should be incorporated into every programme. However, it is usually the part we tend to skip, or fail to do correctly.
Facilitated stretching (or partner stretching) takes the stress out of the process for you and can result in big gains. It involves putting your muscles into a stretched position passively (i.e. no effort on your part) The benefit of this is that you don’t have the strain of holding the stretch and we can stretch muscles in directions that you may not be able to achieve on your own. Using PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) stretching along with M.E.T.’s (muscle energy techniques) we can work together to improve your flexibility and range of motion and reduce the risk of injury. |
